AirPods advertisement titled “Bounce” awarded in the ADC Awards 2020 competition
Apple won Best in Show at the 99th ADC Awards 2020 for its AirPods’ Bounce.
In addition to the award in the Best in Show category, Apple also received the Customer of the Year award, and its contractor TBWA Media Arts Lab won the Best Advertising Agency of the Year award. One Club for Creativity, which awards ADC’s annual awards, made the news available in a press release and on its website. The ADC Awards competition recognizes the best in advertising, digital media, graphic and publishing design, packaging and product design, motion design, experimental and spatial design, photography, illustration and fashion design, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and craftsmanship.
Apple’s “Bounce” ad, released last June, promoting AirPods with a wireless charging case, shows a man starting his normal day. He probably sets off the same route to work every day, but after putting on the headphones, he has a surreal journey adventure through the city.
The ad has a decidedly fun, energizing vibe and uses the song “I Learned Some Jazz Today” by Tessellated. Over the past year, the video has reached over 27 million views.
One Club for Creativity director Kevin Swanepoel praised Apple and TBWA / Media Arts Lab for advertising filmmaking and innovation:
“Bounce” is an amazing example of innovative creative work – said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club for Creativity. It is the epitome of excellence in motion picture craftsmanship and innovation that underpins the evaluation of these awards, and deserves the Black Cube’s Best of Show award for last year’s best creation in the world.
Apple has released a lot of unconventional ads over the years, including for the AirPods headphones. If you haven’t seen “Bounce” yet, check out this amazing city adventure powered by AirPods – I think the prize is well deserved:
