Apple has patented the iPhone dock from which we will control the house
A smart docking station that allows us to charge the iPhone, listen to music and control the house via Siri? It could soon be a reality, according to this Apple patent.
A new patent reveals what Apple’s next plans might be to combine business and pleasure. In this case we are talking about one docking station which will obviously be used to charge the iPhone, but can also be used in many other ways.
According to the document filed with the USPTO, this dock will be equipped with a display, speakers, proximity sensors, wireless module to control other connected devices, touchpad and panel for inductive charging.
A real technical gem, in short, which while recharging the smartphone will allow us to listen to music, interact with the device via gestures, know the status of the iPhone through appropriate LED and much more.
Also, the most interesting aspect of this object will be the support a HomeKit, the iOS framework that allows us to interact with connected smart objects in the home. It is therefore not too futuristic to think that, in a few years, we will be able to talk to our docking station and ask Siri to turn up the heating.
The patent for this gadget was filed for the first time in September 2013 but, as always, don’t expect to see it on the market any time soon, as it may take some time.
