Apple loses 15% of tablet market share to Samsung and Amazon in the third quarter of 2012

Samsung’s new Nexus 10, which costs just $ 399, can be a huge and finally real threat to Apple – especially since it seems impossible to file any patent claims with this model. In addition, there are statistics describing the situation on the tablet market in the third quarter of this year, which clearly show that the iPad lost almost 15% of the market share to the Asian company and Amazon.

The iPad continues to dominate the tablet market, where the total share of individual models is 50.4%, but Samsung recorded an increase of almost 325% compared to last year! Moreover, Sammy’s market share compared to the previous year increased from 6.5% to 18.4%! As a result, Samsung is now ranked second among all tablet manufacturers in the world, constantly improving sales results.

Amazon also stole a slice of the pie for itself, all thanks to the Kindle Fire HD unveiled this month, securing a 10% market share. ASUS is in fourth position, most likely due to the Nexus 7, the role of Transformers is also noticeable here.

Coming back to Samsung itself, the Galaxy Tab 2 in the seven-inch version is selling like hot cakes, especially since it has a 3G modem and many network operators could get devices completely free or at extremely attractive prices.

The introduction of the iPad Mini to the market will certainly have a huge impact on the change of the situation on the tablet market, for the summary of this thesis, however, we must wait until the end of the next quarter. What is your opinion on this? Is domination The appeal is slowly but surely coming to an end? 🙂
