Are you throwing them? Marissa Mayer’s crisis of confidence in Yahoo
Confidence in Yahoo boss Marissa Mayer and her strategy is waning, reports the US business magazine Forbes. The product development is not progressing and the business figures are disappointing. Is Marissa Mayer’s final days at Yahoo ahead?
Yahoo is a dinosaur of the internet age. But as is the case with dinosaurs, at some point they will die out. After many unsuccessful attempts, Yahoo should regain its old strength with Marissa Mayer. But now the US business magazine Forbes reports that the ex-Google vice president could give up soon.
Trust in Mayer?
According to the magazine, management and employees are losing confidence in Mayer and their strategy. The big comeback that many had promised themselves from the chief manager has so far failed to materialize. Many top executives had recently left the company: Development chief Jackie Reses left Yahoo and moved to Square in October. In April, Mike Kerns, who had been Senior Vice President until then, had also left. Chief Information Security Officer Alex Stamos announced his departure to competitor Facebook in June.
Crisis of confidence
Forbes reports that the crisis of confidence reached its preliminary low point at a meeting in San Francisco in October. Instead of talking about improving internal communication, a conflict over a lack of understanding and listening has really escalated. Mayer cannot convince with figures either: The sales development in the third quarter was disappointing. The surplus recently decreased from $ 6.8 billion to $ 76 million.
According to Forbes, insiders are convinced that Mayer wants to leave the company and is looking for a dignified farewell.
