Campaign aims to raise awareness of NATO’s ongoing commitment


The agency Scholz & Friends European Office is continuing to grow at its Brussels location by winning a budget and, on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), developed an online campaign for the international organization. Internet spots are intended both to explain the importance of NATO today and to highlight its role as a guarantor of peace and security. They will be published before the official celebrations on April 3rd and 4th, 2009.

“Fortunately, the threats to freedom and stability for the people in the member states of NATO have become a long way off,” says Dr. Lutz Meyer, partner of the Scholz & Friends Group. The campaign is primarily intended to address young people who are less familiar with the tasks of NATO and to remind them that freedom and stability are more precious than they might think.

The platform for the campaign is a website that is advertised internationally through banner placements. The focus is on three 45-second spots that show people in threatening, possibly violent situations, but which in the end surprisingly dissolve into happy everyday scenes. Contents such as “People often take freedom and stability for granted. We are not. Freedom and security. This is our mission. ”Are intended to raise awareness of NATO’s ongoing commitment to peace and security. The campaign is also intended to remind people that NATO has made an important contribution to security and will continue to do so in the future.
