Capcom closes record quarter as Resident Evil 3 sales cross another milestone
More than four-fifths of the games sold were digital in the last quarter.
- Capcom had revenue of $ 343 million in the last six months
- 13.8 million pieces of software were sold, 82 percent of which were digital
- Resident Evil 3 sales exceeded 3 million
We have also brought you the latest results on Capcom, as the Japanese publisher’s current business report shows that they have closed the strongest second quarter of their history so far (July-September) despite the epidemic. In the first six months of the business year, the company had total revenue of $ 343 million, a 21 percent increase over 2019, and profit improved even more to $ 190 million.
Capcom sold 13.8 million pieces of software in the first half, of which more than four-fifths (82%) were sold digitally. The publisher didn’t have a real headline last quarter, and Resident Evil 3, released in April, has exceeded 3 million, but they can’t be really happy with that either, as 2.7 million (which was also a disappointing start after Resident Evil 2) found a host in the previous quarter.
