Capcom got off to a good start to the year, but Resident Evil 3 produced disappointing numbers

The Japanese publisher’s business report ran in, with fresh sales included.

Capcom launched the new business year in April with a real cannon, and while the numbers for the first quarter from April to June were pretty nice based on the recent report, that doesn’t mean the publisher can be completely satisfied.

The company closed the period with revenue of 23.7 billion yen and a profit of 10.7 billion yen, an improvement of 32 percent and 39 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. Resident Evil 3, on the other hand, found “only” 2.7 million copies in the first three months, well below the last few: 4.2 million in Resident Evil 2 and 3.5 million in Resident Evil 7. million sold out anno.

We also received some additional sales data. Monster Hunter: World already has 16 million, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne 5.8 million, and the franchise as a whole has 64 million units sold. The Resident Evil series, which recently crossed 100 million, boasts 103 million pieces of software sold, while Street Fighter holds 45 million, Mega Man 36 million, Devil May Cry 22 million and Dead Rising 14 million.
