Capcom made a strong reference to the future of Dragon’s Dogma
The director says they’ve almost cut into the sequel, and Capcom continues to treat the game as an important franchise.
- You can get a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma
- This was suggested by the game’s director in an interview
The IGN staff recently interviewed Icuno Hideaki, a Dragon’s Dogma and the director of Devil May Cry 5, who spoke about these two games during the conversation.
“I struggled hard to make a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma or Devil May Cry 5. We ended up opting for the latter, but I feel that Dragon’s Dogma’s influence is still strong, and without it DMC5 wouldn’t have been possible.”
They were then rightly asked if we could expect to continue, and Icuno gave a rather mysterious answer.
“We still consider Dragon’s Dogma an important franchise … but I can’t say more than that yet.”
Originally debuting in 2012, and moving to new-generation platforms in recent years, the action RPG has performed quite well at the box office and for critics alike, so it wouldn’t be a surprise a possible sequel. Could this be one of Capcom’s first nextgen games? It turns out over time – there is currently a suspiciously quiet silence around the publisher’s house that a Resident Evil announcement will soon break.
