Funmedia will open its office in Rocket Space
From the title of the Startup of the Year to the main prize in the international acceleration program Ready To Go, organized in the Silicon Valley. This, in short, was the way of the Wrocław company Funmedia to another success, which is a three-month office package at the prestigious Rocket Space campus in San Francisco.
From February 24 to March 16 this year. two representatives of Funmedia – Bartłomiej Postek, president of the board and Paweł Czerwony, New Business Developer, participated in the international acceleration program Ready To Go! in the Silicon Valley. The main goal of the program organized by the AIP Business Link network was to accelerate Polish technology companies to enter the US market.
The departure to the United States was preceded by the Silicon Valley Open Week in Warsaw, i.e. a series of trainings during which participants had the opportunity to meet, among others with Chris Burry, managing the US MAC accelerator and learn how to build effective business models and properly present your ideas.
Funmedia is a creator of e-learning products distributed on 29 markets (including Australia, Germany, Canada). Its portfolio includes several language and specialist e-courses as well as mobile applications for learning five foreign languages: Kursy123 and Courses123. Over 300,000 users already use the company’s products. The latest Lingly language application is under development and commercialization – another duo from Funmedia is currently working on its implementation on the market as part of the TURN8 acceleration program in Dubai.
During their three-week stay in California – initially in San Francisco, then in Palo Alto – Funmedia representatives benefited from industry mentoring, participating in numerous meetings with business leaders and experts from companies whose brands build the prestige of Silicon Valley. The program ended with a pitching session and a presentation to investors, including Manuel Fernandez, co-founder of DreamFunded.com. The team from Wrocław defeated five other IT companies and thus won a three-month office package at Rocket Space, the most famous co-working office in the Silicon Valley. This is where companies such as Spotify, Uber and Supercell started their adventure with business.
Winning the Ready To Go! it is a great success and satisfaction, but the experience and knowledge brought to us by networking with representatives of companies such as Google, Cisco, K12.com or Intel are equally valuable to us – says Bartłomiej Postek, president of Funmedia – In turn, the prestigious location of Rocket Space offers a chance for new business contacts and participation in many inspiring industry events.
Participation in Ready to Go! It also resulted in establishing cooperation with the University of California in Berkeley, whose students will test Funmedia products, and the Trunity company, which will use an e-learning platform to distribute the Polish company’s courses on the US market. In addition, the Coursmos micro-learning platform will make elements of Funmedia e-courses available for sale, and thanks to the cooperation with K12.com, the company has a chance to enter the Brazilian market. The office suite at Rocket Space will be used on future trips to the United States to develop business partnerships. This is another step that brings Funmedia closer to opening a permanent representative office in the USA.
