Significant restrictions have been introduced by the organizers, Chinese exhibitors and visitors are not even allowed to attend the event.

  • The organizers of the Game Developers Conference take the coronavirus epidemic seriously
  • Significant health precautions are being introduced
  • Chinese exhibitors and visitors are not allowed to attend the event

The announcement was made by the organizers of the Game Developers Conference, which will take place on March 16-20, after they have to introduce very serious austerity measures at the Moscone Center in San Francisco due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.

The site will introduce a stricter form of influenza season protocol for the duration of the event, with very frequent disinfection of frequently affected surfaces, daily cleaning of carpets and the deployment of increased amounts of hand sanitizer. In addition, the organizers warned all visitors about personal health precautions such as frequent and thorough hand washing, using a paper towel, or just avoiding catching the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Incidentally, due to the tightening of the U.S. government, Chinese visitors will not be able to attend the event this year as they will not receive a visa, just as Chinese exhibitors will not be present unless they can set up a booth with American workers. In both cases, this means a drop of roughly 2 percent.
