Google Glass glasses rise from the ashes: now they are faster, more useful and cheaper


Google has presented its new Google Glass aimed at companies, Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2, that are “faster and more useful” than the previous ones and that, with this, will help to improve the efficiency of employees who use them in their jobs.

According to a statement from Google, these new glasses are built on the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1, which means a more powerful multicore CPU and a new artificial intelligence engine. The company assures that this allows “significant energy savings, an improvement in computer vision and advanced machine learning capabilities.”

In addition, for the design of this second generation of Glass, Google has teamed up with Smith Optics to adjust the frames to the different types of work in which they are used, in such a way that they are as safe as possible.

Taken together, the new Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is presented as “faster and more useful” than the previous generation, as the company has indicated. The reality glasses increased access to checklists or instructions, and submit photos and videos for inspection.

They also highlight from Google an improvement in the quality of the camera that allows “streaming”, as the previous ones did, although now a USB type C port has also been added to charge them at a higher speed and the battery has been improved so that have a longer duration between charges. On the other hand, from Google they affirm that the new Google Glass Enterprise will support the Android Enterprise Mobile Device Management system.
