All smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi use the default app I browser to allow browsing on the Internet: although it is a valid and effective solution, you would intend to replace it, however you do not know how to change Xiaomi default browser. Don’t worry: the operation in question is easily achievable through the preferences of your mobile device.
This setting is in fact adjusted by means of a specific function present in the user interface preferences MIUI, which can be accessed directly from the device settings. In some cases, it is also possible to act directly from the browser that you want to set as default. For all the details, read on.
The instructions I’m about to export are valid for all the most recent versions of the Android operating system and Xiaomi smartphone (and tablet) models: therefore, you can safely refer to them in case you are looking for a solution to change default browser Xiaomi MIUI 12, change default browser Xiaomi MIUI 11 or do the same thing on any other device of the famous Chinese brand.

Change Xiaomi default browser from smartphone settings
The first solution that I intend to propose is to make the change directly from the settings of your Xiaomi smartphone.
Access, therefore, to Settings of the device by pressing thegear present in Home Screen, then scroll through the screen that opens until you find the entry App and press on it.
Next, tap on the option Manage apps, then, in the next screen, presses on the symbol of three vertical dots located at the top right and select the item Default applications to access the list of categories for which you can define a default app.
At this point, all you have to do is press on the wording Browser and, in the next step, select one of the apps present there, already installed on the smartphone, in order to position the colorful arrow at the same.
Once that’s done, press the arrow located at the top left to return to the previous screen and make sure that under the item Browser the app selected above is present. From this moment on, navigation will take place automatically with the new browser selected.

If you have not been able to locate the function described in the previous chapter from the settings of your Xiaomi smartphone, you can refer to another solution for change the default browser on Xiaomi: this is a shortcut that allows you to easily access the aforementioned preferences directly from browser, through the settings of the app you want to use for Internet browsing.
However, consider that this option is only feasible on certain applications that make this functionality available within their menus: in the next paragraphs I will show you how to proceed by referring to some particularly popular browsers.
If, for example, you are inclined to use the browser Edge, consider that the latter allows you to change the setting in question as early as first start after installation: just tap the option Yes, let’s get started as soon as this possibility is proposed to you and you will be sent directly to the section of Default apps shown in the previous chapter, from which you can access the section preferences Browser.
How do you say? Are you already using Edge but didn’t notice this opportunity the first time you used it? Don’t worry, you can easily fix this by starting the app in question, pressing the i symbol three horizontal dots located at the bottom of the main screen and pressing thegear placed in the panel that appears from the bottom: in this way, in fact, you access the browser settings, where you just need to touch the option Microsoft Edge by default and confirm your will by selecting the item Yes, let’s get started.
You are a loyal user of Firefox? Also in this case the solution is particularly simple: once the app in question is started, press the i symbol three vertical dots located at the bottom right, touch the item Settings located at the bottom of the menu that appears at the same time and scroll down the next screen to display the button for the option Set as default browser. At this point, tap on it to move it into position Hon and you will be sent directly to the section of Default apps described above.
Browser too Opera allows you to make this change in a very simple and intuitive way: once started touch the symbol of profile located at the bottom right, then, in the next screen, presses on that of thegear located at the top right to access the settings.
Once this is done, locate the item Default browser and press on it, then confirm the willingness to perform this operation by selecting the option Following in the panel that appears from the bottom: also in this case, therefore, the function will send you back to the smartphone settings and you can easily change the default app within the section Browser.
