How to program Fire Stick remote control
If the remote control combined with your Amazon key also has the convenient functions for controlling your TV but you did not perform the related configuration during the initialization procedure or you changed the TV model, do not worry, as it is possible to change this setting even afterwards.
To understand how to program Fire Stick remote and make the buttons compatible on / off And volume control with your TV proceed as follows: to start, access the key’s main interface and go to the device preferences by selecting the icon with thegear.
Next, locate the function Device control and press on it, then, on the next screen, press on the item Manage devices. Once this is done, access the functionality TVselect the option Change TV and repeat the choice you just made in the notification that will appear on the screen: consider that the configuration procedure will take a variable amount of time 5 to 10 minutes.
The first operation that you will be asked to perform concerns the choice of brand of your TV: if it is not included among the most common ones proposed at the beginning of the list, press and hold the central round button down to quickly scroll through the available options (there are really many!) and find the correct one.
Then follow the instructions that appear on the screen: you simply have to press the classic button on / off located on the top of the remote control to turn off the TV and perform the same operation again 10 seconds later to turn it back on.
At each attempt you will be asked to indicate whether this was successful or not: in the event of a negative response, a new test will be performed with different IR frequencies, and so on until the correct one is identified. As soon as you succeed, you will be prompted to test the buttons for as well lower And raise the volume: therefore, once this test has also been performed, you will have to answer the relevant question. If everything goes smoothly as it should, the procedure ends here, otherwise the detection will have to be done from scratch.
The configuration possibilities offered by the remote control of your Fire TV do not end here: in fact, by accessing the previous screen again from the path Device Control> Manage Devices> TV and selecting the item Infrared options you will be able to search or update the Infrared profileThis procedure is useful if the television’s response to remote control impulses is not particularly effective.
In addition, you can also adjust the settings here Timingby increasing or decreasing the response range to infrared signals, e Repetitionthat is, specifying the frequency of sending the signal from the remote control to the TV, which can be set 1 to 3 times.
In the same way, therefore, it is possible to manage the Power On / Off Controls (always present within the function TV) by adjusting both the Ignition delay that the number of repetitions of the commands in question. Since these are particular settings, the advice I want to give you is to try to keep the default values: the fact remains that you can still test different preferences and then eventually restore the original ones in case of problems.
If you have a remote control that integrates voice commands and an associated Alexa device, you can also manage thevolume increase (through the function of the same name) which is operated on the TV by the voice assistant at each of your specific requests for adjusting the intensity (for example, with voice commands, raise the volume / lower the volume).
Finally, I also point out the function Change of entrancewhich allows you to replicate the navigation mode of source selection menu also on the key. If, for example, you use the up or down scroll keys on your TV’s original remote to access a different input, I recommend setting the mode to Navigate Up + Down: in this way, by pronouncing a suitable voice command (such as, precisely, “change input”) after pressing the Alexa buttonthe system will follow the same movement.
