In the first trailer for “The Batman”, Robert Pattison transforms into the Dark Knight

Watch the first trailer for the new Batman, where the Dark Knight (as Pattinson) looks completely different this time around!

The upcoming movie Batman (original title The Batman) starring Robert Pattinson is one of DC’s most anticipated films. Today we can see Pattinson for the first time as the Dark Knight. Production of the movie was cut short by a pandemic, but the footage that director Matt Reeves brought to the DC FanDome virtual convention is a pretty good look at what fans of the series should expect.

As always in Gotham City, crime is rampant as some evil force tries to defeat Batman. The action takes place about two years after Bruce Wayne began his career as Batman, in a period when he is still just a masked city guard.

The trailer also introduces several key characters, including Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. Reeves emphasized that many of these characters are still in the process of being transformed. For example, Selina Kyle is not Catwoman yet, and both Riddler and Penguin are at the start of their criminal career.

Probably the most shocking part of the trailer is not Pattinson and Reeves’ approach to Batman, but to Bruce Wayne, who doesn’t look like the well-kept, complex version of Bruce Wayne’s playboy that fans of Christian Bale, Michael, can expect. Keaton and even Ben Affleck. Bruce Wayne as Pattinson is a bit more sloppy, a bit more gothic, more intriguing.

Reeves has shared a few details from the last few months, including the new Batman costume look and photos of the new Batmobile. The movie was originally scheduled for release on June 21, 2021, but due to a pandemic affecting production and other movie releases this year, Batman was postponed to October 1, 2021.
