Killzone 2 DLC later this month
Sony has announced that the first downloadable content (DLC) for Killzone 2 will be released on April 30. The Steel & Titanium Pack, as the additional content is called, will include two new multiplayer maps, Wasteland Bullet and Vekta Cruiser. No price was discussed.
Killzone 2 is the sequel to the 2004 original for the PlayStation 2 and is set after the events of Killzone: Liberation for the PSP. In this series, humanity is at loggerheads with the Helghast, an alien race that looks more like upright humans than the aliens from Halo or Resistance, for example. These orange-eyed ghouls have since been successfully kicked off our planet, but just like in Gears of War 2, people are not satisfied with this temporary feeling of peace. So the Earth army, called ISA in Killzone 2, heads to the planet of the Helghast to settle the score.
You control an ISA soldier and fight the Helghast in a squad. Striking compared to other shooting games is that realism plays a significant role, certainly more than in the first part. This can be read from the way of gameplay that the game expects from you. If a chicken without a head is running through the levels while spraying, it is certainly not an option and is punished mercilessly, especially on the higher difficulty level.
