With only a week to go until Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 comes out, this means that PES and FIFA will once again compete fiercely with each other. The legendary developer of the Pro Evolution Soccer series: Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka has already said that we can expect much more online this year from PES 2009. Shingo knows what the weaknesses were in the online part of PES last year and wants to going to improve a lot now. Since this is such an important point in a football game like this, we want to explain this a little further. Takatsuka said the following about this:

“I do acknowledge that last year we placed such emphasis on the controls that the online side was sacrificed. For instance if you didn’t have a very good connection, that could really seriously affect your gameplay and it could turn out to be very horrible indeed.

About the improvements, Shingo says:

“This year we looked at this as a top priority and we tested half way around the world, so that even for people who don’t have good connections we wanted to pursue how we can make the game still playable… we found a solution as well as taking on more players, four this time, for multiplayer online.”

Shingo also promised us that they are constantly working on the online part of PES 2009. In any case, we hope that PES 2009 can keep up with FIFA 09 and that it can be a good game again.

As expected, Pro Evolution Soccer has been polished up a lot more and the football players look a bit more realistic compared to the previous edition. In addition, there are new moves to perform, we can adjust the game to our own wishes and we can expect new control options.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 will be released on October 15 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP. The Wii version won’t hit stores until spring 2009.
