Nestlé and Gerando Falcões launch first social product
Debut will be the fight between heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Brazilian Junior “Cigano” dos Santos
Rede Globo and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced this Thursday, the 27th, an agreement to broadcast UFC programming. The broadcaster will have exclusivity to show live all UFC events in Brazil and three abroad, in addition to the first Brazilian edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
The first broadcast after the deal will be the long-awaited fight between heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and Brazilian Junior “Cigano” dos Santos, scheduled for November 12, in Anaheim, California. Globo will also broadcast all UFC events in Brazil and other UFC programs around the world.
“Brazil is a huge market for the UFC and it makes perfect sense that it is the first country where we produce our first The Ultimate Fighter locally. We will find the next Anderson Silva or José Aldo, I have no doubt! And doing it alongside Rede Globo is fantastic”, comments UFC president Dana White about the first season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) in Brazil.
“UFC Rio had the most sensational atmosphere I’ve ever seen. The Brazilian fans were unbelievable. And you can bet that we will bring more live events to the country. TV Globo is the perfect partner that will raise the level of MMA in Brazil. I can’t wait to go back,” he adds.
