Next Fallout 3 DLC Delayed by a Month
Bethesda already released Operation Anchorage at the end of January, the first downloadable Fallout 3 expansion in a series of three, exclusive to Xbox 360. The intention was to also release a new expansion in the next two months, but it was announced today that the next two pieces of downloadable content (DLC) have been delayed by a month. The Pitt is now out in mid-March and Broken Steel will follow sometime in April.
The Pitt adds an industrial village of raiders in the remnants of Pittsburgh, in which the player must make several daring decisions. Broken Steel recruits players to the Brotherhood of Steel and lets you continue after the main quest concludes. This also causes the level cap to go up to 30.
The story of Fallout 3 begins with your birth and your mother’s death in a hospital. This is the moment where you can create your own character with a DNA analyst. Fallout 3’s combat system is called the Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System (VATS). You can take down enemies in real-time from a first-person perspective, but the nice thing about the VATS system is that you can pause time to select a target at will. However, its use is limited by action points, but these will usually be replenished during battles. If you’re not into skinning enemies alive, Bethseda guarantees that you can also struggle through the levels by working unobtrusively and silently. It also seems that having conversations can go a long way towards getting through the areas unscathed.
Enemies can attack you in exactly the same way with the targeting system, so it is possible to get hit in different places on your body. To make these battles run smoothly, there is a new health system, also as a clear radiation system. The latter is a very practical option for demonstrating contamination of water and food before consuming it. The Karma system will once again be in full swing and there are about 9 to 12 possible endings based on your actions.
