Publicis Groupe launches a new strategic unit for its customers
The Publicis Groupe bundles its digital activities in the strategic unit VivaKi. The aim is to significantly improve customer investment and increase the group’s growth in the fast-growing digital markets.
Jack Klues and David Kenny, both Managing Partners and members of the Management Board, will lead the new media, technology and audience growth engine. According to the headquarters in Paris, VivaKi will benefit from the entire range of autonomous activities of Digitas, Starcom MediaVest, Denuo and ZenithOptimedia and will develop new services, tools and partnerships.
The strategic move reflects Publicis Groupe’s belief that an entirely new and integrated organization of the interactive, analog and digital universes can better leverage the key determinants of future success. “The digital explosion of the last ten years has led us to a historically unprecedented revolution in terms of the incredible speed of the processes, their geographic extent and their scope,” explains Maurice Levy, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe, the prerequisites for the decision .
Levy points to the emergence of new global giants like Microsoft, Google and Yahoo, as well as redefined business models. To help its clients rethink their marketing and improve the performance of their media investments in this new world, Publicis has created a leadership position. It has succeeded because the group is integrating the digital capabilities of its agencies, having bought Digitas and entering into innovative partnerships with new market entrants such as Google.
According to Paris, Digitas, Starcom MediaVest, Denuo and ZenithOptimedia will continue to independently develop specific solutions for their customers – now supported by the new strategic unit and a platform for employee development. “VivaKi’s breadth creates unparalleled benefits for our customers. It allows us to invest in training and developing the best talent, to work with the most powerful open source technology and to offer our media partners strong and effective solutions,” commented David Kenny. -mu
