Samsung Exynos 850 is a new 8nm chipset for affordable smartphones


Earlier this week, the company announced Exynos 880 with an integrated 5G modem for mid-range handsets. Now, Samsung has quietly introduced a Chipset called the Exynos 850 on its website for affordable devices.

Samsung is one of the few smartphone makers capable of designing its own chipsets. Earlier this week, the company announced Exynos 880 with an integrated 5G modem for mid-range devices. Now, Samsung has quietly introduced a Chipset called Exynos 850 on your website for affordable devices. The first smartphone with this SoC is the Galaxy A21s that was already announced a few days ago.

The new Exynos 850 is an 8nm Chipset consisting of an eight-core CPU made of ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. Whereas the graphics components are managed by the ARM Mali-G52 GPU;

As for hardware compatibility, this Chipset can support screens up to FHD+ (2520 × 1080 pixels), LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. As for cameras, it supports dual camera configurations of up to 16MP + 5MP or 21.7MP single camera (same forward), FHD video recording at 60fps and video codecs like HEVC (H.265), H. 264, and VP8.

Finally, for connectivity, the chipset supports Cat.7 LTE DL (downlink), Cat.13 UL (uplink), WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, FM radio and GNSS such as GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo.

Currently, the Exynos 850 nm chipset is being mass produced and therefore we can expect it to be seen in more equipment. Samsung Galaxy A and M series.
