Sapphire glass not available on all iPhone 6 models

According to the latest reports, the upcoming iPhone model will have a sapphire glass that protects the screen only in some hardware versions. This is to be indicated by the insufficient production of this element of the structure.

According to analysts from JP Morgan, a total of 10 million scratch-resistant panels will leave production lines by the end of this year. This amount is too low to be used in all copies of the future smartphone. With 51 million iPhones sold in the last quarter of last year, it becomes obvious that the production of sapphire panels is currently too low.

This may suggest the use of this design element only in some iPhone 6 models. JP Morgan is of the opinion that probably better quality security will be provided for a higher-priced model with 128 GB mass memory. Such a policy is to be imposed not only by the high cost of production of sapphire panels but also by the related problems.

A few days ago, analysts suggested that a similar division awaits a wristwatch from Apple, where only one of the models with a screen diagonal of 1.8 inches will receive sapphire glass.
