Shadow of the Colossus may have been made into a movie
Shadow of the Colossus, one of the PlayStation 2’s biggest games, is likely to get a movie. Sony Pictures has initiated the process and they have linked producer Kevin Misher to the project. He will produce the film and has previously worked on The Scorpion King, The Interpreter and the upcoming film adaptation of Dune.
The script will be written by Justin Marks. He was previously responsible for the script of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. This wasn’t the best movie ever, but maybe it wasn’t having its day. It is clear that a challenge awaits him, since Shadow of the Colossus is a game with very few dialogues and characters.
Whether the film will actually come is not yet certain. The fact that Sony Pictures is working on it does not mean that the project will also reach the finish line. However, the beginning is here.
In The Shadow of the Colossus, you will have to bring your girlfriend back to life as Wanda. This is only possible by defeating the sixteen giants that are in the world. With Wanda you ride on horseback to one of these giant creatures and you first complete a level that mainly consists of puzzles. Once you get to the giant you will have to find a way to kill him, which is very tricky. The creatures are very large and will not be afraid to crush you into Wandamoes. The Colossus’ weak spot is usually at the very top and it will often take you at least half an hour to get it down. Shadow of the Colossus excels in the new gameplay and breathtakingly beautiful world, just like Ico.
