Sony says it will reveal the best smartphone camera on October 26

‎What we do know is that it will happen on October 26th (October 25th in the US), and all we know about it is that “a new Xperia is coming”, with a focus on professional photography and videography taking precedence over everything other than that.‎

‎Earlier this week, the Sony released a new trailer for their upcoming product Xperia, claiming it has the “best smartphone camera” in the world. The company has been able to generate a lot of interest for the upcoming phone, despite not providing any details about it. This is even quite unusual in an industry where pre-release leaks have become almost standard practice. We’re not complaining, however, all this adds to the suspense of the reveal. After all, the best surprises are the ones that are completely unexpected.‎

‎It can be inferred from this that the line Xperia Pro will be receiving an updated model in the near future. However, the Sony secured the opinions of some professional photographers to praise more affordable and less impressive models such as the Xperia 1 III and even the Xperia 5 II mid-range in the teaser, which does not necessarily imply that the Sony will be revealing a true top of the range model.‎ Join the discussion on Twitter

Regarding the future device, the Sony seems to have invited a content creator, a photographer and a filmmaker to test it out. According to his comments, the device “almost looked like a camera attached to a smartphone”, which is very interesting to know.

‎Another well-known feature of the phone is the inclusion of a dedicated shutter button, which has become something of a standard on smartphones from the Sony in recent years.‎

‎This way we’ll just have to wait until next week’s event, although it’s possible that the Sony release some additional teasers until then.‎
