Today is election day in America, wrote our US correspondent Yvette yesterday in her Schwerdt blog. It is strangely quiet in the country. Most people would only interrupt their rhythm for a short time and go vote “quickly” – otherwise the day feels like any other.

She actually thought that the busy election workers were working everywhere on that day to convince the undecided and to motivate the phlegmatic.
