Supply chain sources deny the existence of the 4-inch iPhone 6s mini
Sources note that there is no indication that Apple has plans to launch a 4-inch iPhone in 2015.
With the arrival of the new year, new rumors have also appeared, specifically one that we echoed a few days ago and that indicated that Apple was preparing a new 4-inch iPhone for this year. The information disclosed by analyst Timothy Arcuri indicated that the new model would receive the name of iPhone 6s mini and it would become the entry model to the iPhone line thanks to the use of cheaper materials.
The rumor by itself did not convey much veracity, although it is true that Arcuri has been correct on many previous occasions about predictions of future Apple products. However, a few hours ago a medium has published that there is no indication that Apple plans to launch a 4-inch iPhone on the market.
This information would be based on different sources in Apple’s supply chains, something that we should not take at face value either, since they are not usually aware of the company’s plans until they begin to produce the devices. At this time, sources assure that have not received any orders from Apple to make a new 4-inch iPhone model, which does not rule out the possibility that they may receive it later.
In this way, the information indicates that the next generation of Apple’s phone should continue to maintain the 4.7 and 5.5 inches released with the current generation. The design of the iPhone would be roughly the same as that found in the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, although the doors remain open to the incorporation of new hardware elements or relocation of the buttons.
Supply chains have not received any orders for a new 4-inch model
Considering that the next generation of the iPhone will hit the market in the last months of 2015, it is still too early to take us seriously according to what rumors. As is usual, these will gain more weight as we get closer to the launch date of the device.
As we can see in Appleinsider, at the moment Apple still offers two iPhone models with a 4-inch screen: the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s. With the arrival of a new generation, and assuming that Apple will act the same as in previous years, the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus would reduce their price by $ 100 and iPhone 5s could become the entry-level model.
