Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC Beneath the Ashes Coming February 24

Lara Croft’s latest adventure can of course be experienced in Tomb Raider: Underworld, which we liked best in our review. The Xbox 360 version was supposed to come with downloadable content (DLC), titled Beneath the Ashes, earlier this month, but Eidos was forced to postpone this new content due to technical problems.

It has now become clear that the delay is short-lived, because Beneath the Ashes will be put online on Tuesday 24 February, Eidos’ Jason Walker said via the official forum. The new content should provide approximately three hours of additional gameplay and will only be available for the Xbox 360 version of Tomb Raider: Underworld. The content is expected to carry a price tag of 800 Microsoft Points. Later this year, a second piece of downloadable content is expected with approximately three hours of extra fun.

If there’s one thing that will be central to Tomb Raider: Underworld, it’s interaction. And especially interaction with the environment. Lara will be able to pick up almost anything in her environment to use as a weapon, but sometimes it may also be necessary to deploy an object as a resource. For example, you can use a found spear to spear enemies, but you can also use the spear as a small pole to jump over a large hole. A staff lying around can be fun to take a few hits with, but push the staff into a hole in the wall and you can start spinning on it to jump to higher places.

But the environment also plays with you! Rain turns sand into mud, ridges slippery and Lara wet. You will definitely have to use the forces of nature during your world trip along locations such as Mexico and Easter Island…
