Two out of five online retailers offer the opportunity to evaluate products

Customer reviews have meanwhile become a factor influencing purchasing decisions in e-commerce that should not be underestimated. Buyers of a product or service give their opinion about the purchased item in the product description in the online shop.

But how many online retailers are currently offering this review option? This is what the e-commerce guide team wanted to find out and therefore surveyed the readers of the e-commerce newsletter and visitors to the e-commerce guide platform online and received 190 responses.

A total of 40 percent of online retailers therefore already offer this form of product evaluation. A quarter plan to introduce customer ratings for their items. Almost a fifth reject this method, with six percent citing the fear of bad reviews as the reason. At 15 percent, the shop software does not support customer reviews.
