Volkswagen Group of America is redesigning its content management in the workshop

Arvato Services, solution specialist in the field of information logistics, implements the workshop information system “Gitta” for Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA).

With the content management system (CMS), the company wants to record, maintain, translate and manage all repair and workshop information in a cost- and time-saving way. The solution enables the division to seamlessly integrate its own processes as well as all repair and workshop information into the system landscape of the entire VW Group.

“Cars today consist of more and more individual parts and components – and the trend is rising,” says Ulli Kreidner, Head of Content Solutions at Arvato Services, explaining the change. In addition, there are more and more vehicle variants and types. This complexity requires a professional workshop information system.

The provider developed the CMS solution specifically for the after-sales area and tailored it to VW’s requirements. It contains all the relevant information for the repair and maintenance of VW vehicles. The stored data can be used across applications and companies. Both internal and external data exchange with partner companies (such as authorized dealers, workshops) is possible.

“Before Gitta was introduced, it was not possible to measure and track productivity, allocate resources efficiently, or make precise predictions in order to better control workflows. Documents were only managed manually, which increased the susceptibility to errors. This led to a certain inefficiency that we were aware of, but could not fix due to the limitations of our system at the time, ”explains Laurie Brown, General Manager Service Information and Tools at VWGoA.
