Windows Sandbox we’ll tell you about what it is and how to activate Windows Sandbox, one of the main novelties of Windows 10 May Update 2019. AND a test field which has the advantages of virtual machines, but works much more simply by not having to install or configure anything.
The bad news is that this is a feature that is not available in Windows 10 Home, so you need to have purchased and installed a more complete and professional version to use it. The beauty is that it offers you an isolated environment in which to test with the peace of mind that no modification or installation you make on it will affect your computer.

What is Windows Sandbox
Windows Sandbox is a lightweight desktop environment, which has been specifically designed to be able to safely run applications in an isolated environment. It is a feature currently only available in Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, so Home version users can’t use it.
We could say it’s something reminiscent of virtual machines, but it’s much simpler because you don’t have to install or configure anything. Just start Windows Sandbox, and once open it lets you have a single-use Windows 10 within Windows 10 to test potentially dangerous things without fear.

The feature of Sandbox is that you can try any application on a secondary Windows completely isolated from the rest and where no changes made will be applied to the primary operating system. Simply, everything you do or install will be lost the moment you close the application.
If you have downloaded an application that you think may be dangerous for your computer, you can install it without fear of a virus or Trojan that could damage your PC. You can also use Sandbox to make changes to the system, then if the result doesn’t satisfy you… poof… close the application and it’s as if you never did.
Finally, keep in mind that in order to use this feature your computer must meet certain hardware specifications stricter than the minimum required by Windows 10.
You need a processor with dual – core CPU although 4 cores are recommended with hyperthreadin and 64 – bit architecture. Virtualization options must be enabled in the BIOS and 1GB of internal memory, SSD recommended, and at least 4GB of RAM are required, although 8GB is recommended.
How to activate Windows Sandbox
This new feature is not enabled by default. To activate it, open your Windows browser and open the function Turn Windows features on or off. To do this, open the start menu and start typing the name of the function, so that the search engine opens and shows you the best match. Then just click on it.
The window will open Windows features, where you can activate and deactivate some of the hidden functions of the operating system. In this window, activate the feature Space in Windows making click the box to the left of the name so that it is marked. It may ask you to restart your computer.
How to fix Windows 10 update problems
Once your computer has restarted you can use the function. Therefore, now it is enough to open the browser or the start menu and click the Windows Sandbox application to run it. You will just have to write the name.
Once done, a window with another Windows 10 will open inside your current Windows 10. Within this virtual operating system you can do all the tests and changes you want, and when you close the window these changes will disappear forever, including any applications you may have installed and the effects of these.
