Xiaomi Mi Pad 4: Affordable Android Tablet Officially Introduced
The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has the product page for the new Android tablet Mi Pad 4 put online before the official presentation, giving us a glimpse of all the important key data including the sales price.
Xiaomi has already confirmed the eight-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC in advance. Depending on the model, the Android tablet has 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage space.
As known from the numerous leaks, a 13 megapixel camera is installed on the back. A 5 megapixel camera is also available for selfies and video calls. Of course, artificial intelligence is also an issue at Xiaomi. The front as well as the main camera should be optimized by artificial intelligence.
For the first time, Xiaomi is also installing an LTE module (depending on the model, of course) in the Android tablet. In this country, however, the LTE model can only be used to a limited extent, as LTE Band 20 is unfortunately not supported. I don’t expect a “Global Edition” including LTE Band 20 with the Mi Pad 4.
Other key data: WLAN ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 6000 mAh battery, USB Type C and MIUI 10 (based on Android 8 Oreo). The new Mi Pad 4 basically offers everything you can expect from a well-equipped Android tablet today.
The Mi Pad 4 is particularly interesting because of its price. The Mi Pad 4 with 3 GB and 32 GB of memory is available from the equivalent of 145 euros. The LTE model can be bought for a fair 196 euros, although this version, as already mentioned, should be less interesting for us. In any case, I am now curious to see how much the well-known import dealers such as Gearbest, Banggood & Co. will charge for the Android tablet …
