Yahoo says sale to Verizon still on, but delayed

Since its creation, the worst year in the history of Yahoo has been 2016, a year in which he has seen his value plummet, after the problems of collaboration with the American government so that he could access any email account and the more than 1,500 million accounts that were hacked years ago, but that the company hid it until a few months ago. Before the number of accounts hacked in the past was made public, Yahoo had struck a deal to sell most of the company to Verizon.

Shortly after reaching a settlement for 4.8 billion dollars, the cases of hacks in Yahoo accounts began to be uncovered, something that It did not sit well with Verizon who tried on more than one occasion to try to cancel the agreement to which he had arrived with Yahoo or that the price of the transaction was reduced, by at least 1,000 million. It has not been publicly confirmed or denied that the price could have changed, and it is likely that we will never know. At the moment the only thing that seems to be true is that Verizon is still behind the purchase of Yahoo.

Coincidentally, this last quarter has been one of the best for Yahoo, which has managed to raise its sales figure by 200 million compared to the same period of the previous year and exceeding by 100 million, the figures predicted by analysts. Once Yahoo gets rid of the part that Verizon bought, the company will be renamed Altaba, and with which Yahoo Japan will manage, one of the most profitable for the company in addition to the important position it has in the Chinese giant Alibaba.
