AltStore new version supports automatic installation of Fugu14 with unc0ver jailbreak
AltServer v1.4.7 was released this week with support for iOS and iPadOS 15.1 and macOS 12 Monterey. Now a new version of AltStore has been launched: applications for iOS and iPadOS in addition to AltServer to conveniently download applications on iPhone and iPad.
AltStore version 1.4.8 is now available for download. It supports the updated unc0ver jailbreak with the automatic installation of the Fugu14 tool. Also, AltStore even has instructions for installing unc0ver and Fugu14.
The screenshots below show what the process looks like. AltStore suggests installing the Fugu14 tool to release the unc0ver jailbreak. This means that it is not necessary to reinstall it every 7 days or after each restart of the device.
The user can choose to install the tool without ties or not. If you choose to install an untethered jailbreak, AltStore will take a few additional steps during the installation.
In unc0ver v7.0.1 and the updated Fugu14, the stability and reliability of the instruments has been improved. As a reminder, Fugu14 currently only supports arm64e devices (iPhone XS and later) running iOS and iPadOS 14.3-14.5.1.
The unc0ver jailbreak can still be used as a semi-untethered tool on other devices running iOS and iPadOS 11.0-14.3, but the Fugu14 tool is not available to them yet. It is not known when it will be updated for additional devices with additional versions of the system.
Also, unc0ver jailbreak is not available for arm64 devices (iPhone X and later) running iOS 14.4-14.5.1. Checkra1n jailbreak is available to them. Let’s see if this jailbreak has support for Fugu14.
AltStore and AltServer are two different applications. Today a new version of AltStore has been released for iPhone and iPad, and there has recently been an update to AltServer for macOS and Windows.
