Some of the new Apple Watch straps would be designed by well-known fashion firms
We’re just a few hours away from Apple’s September special event and we still have some information in the pipeline before the lights go out and Tim Cook takes the stage. Among the last minute rumors that emerged this morning, are the possible Apple collaborations with renowned fashion brands to create Apple Watch straps.
As we reported yesterday, everything indicates that the Apple Watch will also have its small moment of prominence during this afternoon’s keynote and, beyond presenting new models of the Watch Sport in gold, we will also see new Sport Band straps in more colors. In addition, new information indicates that some of the straps that are presented could have been designed by well-known fashion firms, thus accentuating the presence of the Apple Watch as a device strongly linked to the world of fashion.
Although some of the collaborations and projects may still be in the early stages, the company may announce at least one major collaboration during the event. Of course, it is also possible that Apple reserves these announcements for the presentation of the second generation of the smartwatch, which is expected early next year.
What does seem practically confirmed are the new colors of the Sport Band and the gold models of the Apple Watch Sport. It is not the first time that we have seen this type of collaboration in relation to the smartwatch market, without going any further Samsung already did it at the time by joining with Swarovski to launch exclusive straps for your Gear S.
The red Sport Band that Apple could present along with other models is filtered
On the other hand, an image appears on Twitter showing what appears to be the box the Sport Band in red, belonging to Apple’s RED range of products whose proceeds are partially destined to combat the fight against AIDS in Africa.
As we read in 9to5Mac, although it could be a simple fake, it makes sense that the red color appears among the new Sport Band models that will be presented this afternoon, especially since we could also see it at the Salone del Mobile in Milan where Jony Ive attended showing new colors of the Sport Band.
