Shortly after the news of the passing of the great actor/comedian Robin Williams had gone around the world, the began World of Warcraft community with it, Blizzard with a request to bombardto create a new NPC in his honor.
Williams was a well-known one World of Warcraft Player. Blizzards MMORPG hit wasn’t the only game he enjoyed, but it was Wow Fans enjoyed having a celebrity like him playing the same game as them. As Warcraft When fans found out about his death, they immediately started a petition Blizzard to encourage you to design a new NPC and integrate it into the MMO Williams to let him live on and to give all fans the opportunity to continue to enjoy his talent.
“Because of his presence within our community,” the petition asks, “We the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create an NPC within the game that memorializes the actor/comedian.”
In less than 24 hours, more than 11,000 fans supported this petition for a new NPC and Blizzard agreed to create one. It’s not yet clear how the actor/comedian will be honored, but fans have already suggested that a character who lives in the World’s End Tavern could be added to the game Williams‘ performs the best stand-up material.
“It is with a growing sense of pride for the World of Warcraft community that I declare victory for this petition,” writes Holgate. “In less than twenty four hours we’ve earned eleven thousand signatures, a huge amount of traction on many gaming and new outlets, as well as assurance from Blizzard employees that our desire for a Robin Williams tribute and or NPC will be handled with great care.”
Williams was an avid gamer and loved numerous games, even though he spent a lot of time in the world of Warcraft spent. His other favorites included Shooters Half Life and Call of DutyRPGs like Wizardy and the Zelda series that he loved so much that he even named his daughter after the famous princess from these games. He was also a fan of pen-and-paper tabletop games and even had one Warhammer 40k Tabletop army, even if he never played with it.
An NPC who bears his name and performs funny things from his repertoire in the World’s End Tavern is an idea that should be implemented very soon.
