E3 2016 U-tad: Capcom says Resident Evil 7 will be less scary if played as a family

Resident Evil 7 was announced during the Sony conference at E3 2016, a renewal of the horror genre with which Capcom makes the leap to the new virtual reality machines. In this way, if scary titles are already very scary, we just have to imagine the terror that we are going to suffer when we put on our VR glasses and immerse ourselves in this world in the first person.

However, as Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil 7, has pointed out in an interview with The Verge, there is a little trick to make this game less scary: “play it as a family”. The Japanese has explained that those players feel that facing Resident Evil 7 alone is going to be “too much for them” can try to share these feelings with friends or relatives.

Kawata assures that perhaps “sharing these scares” helps to feel less fear, since this way the panic suffered will be less than when a user “faces a horror video game alone”. And it is that as Koshi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil 7, assured in the same medium, the virtual reality functionalities of this game make the player feel “trapped inside the video game”.
