The Fallout series has a huge fan base, but not all of them were happy that Bethesda bought the franchise in 2007. Former studio artist Jonah Lob spoke about the not-so-pleasant moments from the development of Fallout 3.

According to him, the developers began to receive threats, which is why the team had to hire a security guard.

I know it might shock you to learn that not every gamer is a great person. And Fallout, unfortunately, had a lot of not very nice fans.

To this small but very vocal community, our attempt to revive the franchise was nothing short of sacrilege.

John Lob

Lob’s words were confirmed by Jeff Gardiner, who served as the producer of the franchise.

The threats were real. One day a fax came into the office, and there was a scribbled note that said: “We will cut your throats.”

It’s a shame I didn’t save it.
