Fallout 3 DLC The Pitt now available for download
Last month we already got new details of the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for Fallout 3 called The Pitt. In this extra content, you travel through the post-apocalyptic remnants of Pittsburgh and find yourself in the middle of a conflict between slaves and Raiders.
Entirely according to plan, this DLC was released online today and can be downloaded for the Xbox 360 and PC version of Fallout 3 for a fee of 800 Microsoft Points (9.60 euros).
The story of Fallout 3 begins with your birth and your mother’s death in a hospital. This is the moment where you can create your own character with a DNA analyst. Fallout 3’s combat system is called the Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System (VATS). You can take down enemies in real-time from a first-person perspective, but the nice thing about the VATS system is that you can pause time to select a target at will. However, its use is limited by action points, but these will usually be replenished during battles. If you’re not into skinning enemies alive, Bethseda guarantees that you can also struggle through the levels by working unobtrusively and silently. It also seems that having conversations can go a long way towards getting through the areas unscathed.
Enemies can attack you in exactly the same way with the targeting system, so it is possible to get hit in different places on your body. To make these battles run smoothly, there is a new health system, also as a clear radiation system. The latter is a very practical option for demonstrating contamination of water and food before consuming it. The Karma system will once again be in full swing and there are about 9 to 12 possible endings based on your actions.
