Then you’ll probably have to be patient, because anyone who hasn’t used the preload in the last few days or bought the version from the retailer will probably now have to struggle with busy servers. Yesterday the time had finally come and the open-world hit called Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC, which was eagerly awaited by many players, was released and, as expected, is enjoying great popularity among players. The game is apparently so popular and has been bought by so many people around the world that the download servers in Social Club are currently a bit weak.

So advice a user on Reddit Among other things, to delete the duplicate downloaded files with the same file size and the same file extension from the GTA 5 PC installation directory. After you restart the launcher, the download of the game files should run faster again. We can only warn against this at the moment, as many users report no improvement and some even report that the download is now taking even longer and the files have to be downloaded again.

Unfortunately, no real solutions to the problem are known yet. It’s probably simply because the Rockstar Games or Social Club servers are currently busy. The game is not exactly unpopular and not exactly small, even if many people probably load it on the day one patch.
