While waiting for your turn, you noticed that a motorist refueled and, unlike the other customers, got back in the car and resumed his journey. You immediately pointed out what happened to the cashier who explained to you that the service station has an agreement for payment with Telepass Pay. In order not to look bad, you paid what you owed and headed for your car. However, now you would like to know what it is and what are the benefits of this service.
Telepass Pay is the evolution of the famous device for automatically paying motorway tolls, with which it is also possible to pay for supplies at affiliated service stations, parking on the blue lines and car tax. Furthermore, the Telepass Pay application for smartphones and tablets allows you to call a taxi and pay for the ride (service active in Milan, Rome, Florence, Genoa, Pisa, Bologna, Brescia and Trieste). All without putting your wallet in your hand, but with charges on the current account associated with your Telepass account and with a recurring fee of 1.24 euros / month (plus the Telepass fee). Interesting, right?

Telepass Pay activation for Telepass customers
Activate Telepass Pay it is a procedure that can be carried out online in complete autonomy, both through the reserved area of the official website of the service and by downloading the Telepass application for Android and iOS devices.
To activate Telepass Pay, connected to the service’s website, click on the item Reserved area present at the top right, enter your data in the fields Username And Password and presses the button Log in to connect to your account. If, on the other hand, you want to proceed using your smartphone or tablet, start the Telepass app, press the button Yup to indicate that you are already a customer, enter your login details in the fields Username And Password and tap the button Log in.
If you have not yet registered on the Telepass site, select the option Sign in and enter yours ID code in the appropriate field (it is the 16-digit code that you can view on Telepass invoices or that you can retrieve by calling the number 840043043), then enter the required data in the fields Mobile phone, Username, Password and E-mail, put the check mark next to the item I accept the terms and conditions of registration on the site and presses the button Sign in. Within a few moments you will receive an email containing an activation link: click on it to complete the registration.
After logging into your account, scroll down the page, locate the section Frequent operations and click on the option Subscribe to Telepass Pay services. If you are using the Telepass app, scroll down the screen, tap on the item Telepass Pay universe and presses the button Join Telepass Pay.
Now, regardless if you are activating the service from a computer or from your mobile device, check that the data shown in the section Confirm data are correct, enter the missing ones and, if you had not done so previously, click on the item Click HERE to proceed with the verification to verify your email.
Then continue activating Telepass Pay by selecting one of the options available from Yup And No via the drop-down menu under the question Are you a “politically exposed person”? and specify your work by selecting one of the available options (Armed forces, Individual entrepreneur, Not busy, Other, Trader, Entrepreneur, Freelance, Retired, Artisan etc.) in the drop-down menu Select the profession.
Now, press the button Valid address to confirm your residential address, put the check marks required to declare that you accept the conditions of the service, the privacy policy and that you have read and fully read the pre-contractual information and press the button Confirm and proceed.
In the section Payment details, enter your IBAN in the field Enter the IBAN code, select one of the available options from driving license, Identity card And Passport using the drop-down menu under the item Identification document and presses the buttons Upload front document And Upload back document to upload the copy in JPG, PNG or PDF format of the document indicated above. Then check that the data shown in the box Contract Summary are correct and click on the button Confirm and proceed.
Now, read carefully what is reported in the sections Rules and conditions, put the mandatory check marks next to the items I accept and presses the button again Confirm and proceed, then put the check mark next to the items I accept present in the sections Acceptance of the Telepass Pay contract And Receipt of a copy of the Telepass Pay contract and presses the button Confirm and proceed.
To complete the activation of Telepass Pay, in the section Signature, click the button Send SMS to receive an OTP code (One time password) to the mobile number indicated above. Then enter the OTP code received in the appropriate field to digitally sign the Telepass Pay contract and complete the service activation request.
If all the data provided are valid, Telepass Pay will be active in a few hours. Otherwise, you will receive an email indicating the problems that prevented its activation. At any time, you can view the status of active services by logging into your Telepass account and selecting the option Services visible in the sidebar on the left.
Telepass Pay activation for new customers
Are you not yet a Telepass customer and would you like to have the famous device to automatically pay motorway tolls and, at the same time, activate Telepass Pay? No problem! The procedure of Telepass Pay activation for new customers it is almost analogous to what was previously described.
To proceed with the activation of Telepass Pay, connected to the official website of the service, locate the item Not yet a Telepass customer? and click on the entry Activate relative to Telapass Pay. Now, choose the type of device you prefer from those available (option active only for computer activations).
- Italy device: allows you to use the device in Italy at a cost of 1.26 euros / month.
- Europe device: Use the device in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. It has an activation cost of 6 euros and a monthly fee of 2.40 euros / month for each country where the service is used (Spain and Portugal are considered a single country).
Alternatively, start the Telepass app (Android / iOS), tap on the item No, I want to become one to indicate that you are not yet a Telepass customer and press the button Become a customer relating to Telepass Pay.
Now, whether you are proceeding from a computer or from a smartphone and tablet, enter your data in the fields Fiscal Code, First name, Last name, Mobile phone, E-mail And Street address, answer the questions Are you a “politically exposed person”? And What job do you do? and specify the data to be associated with your account in the fields Username And Password. Then affix the required check marks and press the button Save and proceed.
On the next screen, enter the license plate to be associated with your Telepass device in the field Plate, specify the shipping address and click / tap the button Save and continue. You must know that the shipping of the Telepass device has a cost of 5.73 euros.
Then continue activating Telepass Pay by entering the Iban code of your account in the appropriate field and indicating your valid document between driving license, Passport And Identity card, then upload a copy of the selected document by pressing the buttons Upload front document And Upload back document and select the option Confirm and proceed to go to the next step.
On the screen Consent and privacy, read carefully what is reported in the section Rules and conditions and put check marks next to the items I accept, then repeat what has just been indicated for the sections Acceptance of the Telepass Pay contract And Receipt of a copy of the Telepass Pay contract.
Finally, press the button Send SMS to obtain the OTP code to use to put your digital signature on the contract. Then enter the OTP code received via SMS in the appropriate field and that’s it. Now, all you have to do is wait for your device to be delivered and start using the services associated with Telepass Pay.
