What is bedrock in Minecraft
There bedrock, in Italian called bottom rock, is an indestructible solid block that you can find in the deepest levels of Minecraft’s underground. In fact, the Minecraft map has a bottom made up of a layer of bedrock, which separates it from the void.
The bottom rock is also present in the Nether and, since this dimension represents a hellish world underground, you can find it both at the top and at the bottom of this game map. This type of block was, therefore, implemented by the developers to delimit the limit of the Minecraft map: lower for the main world and both lower and upper for the Nether.
I bet you don’t like the concept of indestructible, right? You need to know that, from time to time, videos and guides appear explaining how to destroy the background rock for specific versions of Minecraft. Unfortunately, however, these solutions require you to exploit bugs which are then fixed by the developers.
In this regard, in the next chapter, I will explain an infallible method to be able to remove the bedrock and access, therefore, the emptiness of the map: however, be careful that, if you fall into it, your avatar will lose all life points and you will be, therefore , forced to revive it, losing everything that was present in the inventory.
How to break the bedrock in Minecraft
If you are intent on finding out how to break the bedrock in minecraft, what you have to do is carefully follow the procedures that I will show you in the next paragraphs, in which I will explain how to do this through the Creative mode of this video game.
Enable the command console
If you are playing Minecraft in mode Creative, surely the information I am about to give you in this chapter will not serve you and, therefore, you can directly go to the procedures that I will give you in the next chapter.
If, on the other hand, you are playing the Survival of Minecraft, in order for you to break the bottom rock, you will have to change the game mode of the map: this operation is only possible if you have enabled the command console.
In Minecraft Java Edition, you can enable this panel in Survival mode in two ways: by creating a new world with cheats enabled or by activating them later from the pause menu. But let’s go in order, to understand how to carry out this operation.
To create a new world in Survival mode with cheats enabled, on the Minecraft title screen, press the Single Player and then click the button Create a new world. On the screen that is shown to you, make sure the mode is set Survival and then click the button Other world options. In the configuration parameters, click on the button Commands, in order to change the wording from No to Yup. Then press the keys Done And Create a new world And that’s it.
If, on the other hand, you have already started a game session in Survival mode without enabling the command console, what you have to do is press the key Esc, to access the pause menu. At this point, click on the item Open in LAN and change the wording from No to Yup, corresponding to the option Commands.
At this point, you just have to press the button Start the world on the LAN, to make sure the command console is enabled in Minecraft Java Edition.
If you play, however, a Minecraft Bedrock Edition, the operations to be performed to enable the command console is completely different from that described in the previous paragraphs. In the Minecraft title screen, first press the button Plays and then on the voice Create New, in the tab Worlds.
After that, select the option Create a new world and, among the configuration options, make sure that the entry Activate Cheats is set to ON. This operation can be carried out both in the case of a new world, and in case you want to modify one already created, by pressing on thepencil icon that you find alongside the world already created.
After enabling the command console on Minecraft, what you have to do is simply open the chat, using the appropriate button: the key T. on PC, the right arrow key on the console controller orcartoon icon in the Minecraft app for smartphones and tablets.
Once this is done, type and then confirm the command / gamemode creative in the appropriate text box, in order to change the game mode to that Creative. Now you can proceed with the next step of this guide of mine to know how to break the bedrock in Minecraft.
I remind you that you can return to the mode at any time Survival, carrying out the same procedures that I indicated in the previous paragraphs, but using the command / gamemode survival.
Break the bedrock
Now that you have set the Minecraft world in mode Creative, you can break the bottom rock easily. What you need to do is simply reach the lowest level of the underground, making your way between the various blocks.
After reaching the bedrock layer, simply interact with it, using your bare hands, in order to destroy them. It was easier than you thought, am I right?
Other useful tips
If you don’t want to change the Minecraft game mode to Creative, so that you can easily destroy the background rock, there are several solutions you can take to do this.
Unfortunately, however, as I anticipated in the introductory chapter, these solutions are not infallible, as they exploit bugs that are solved by developers with the increasingly recent versions of Minecraft.
In case you are playing older versions or want to try some methods by changing the version of the Minecraft client, what I can recommend is to read all the instructions that are listed at this link, which refers to the Minecraft wiki on Gamepedia. com (site where you can find a wealth of information on the famous title of Mojang).
