How to see Minecraft Java Edition screenshots
If you want to know how to see Minecraft Java Edition screenshots, know that this operation is really simple and all you have to do is follow step by step the instructions that I will give you in the next chapters, based on the operating system in use on your computer.
Windows
If you are playing Minecraft Java Edition on your PC Windows, to take a screenshot simply press the key F2 on the keyboard during the game session. This will save a snapshot of the game screen in PNG and stored in a folder on your computer.
To access that folder, you need to open theFile Explorer (L’folder icon on the taskbar) of Windows and navigate to the path% appdata% . minecraft (you can copy and paste this string into the screen bar File Explorer). Alternatively, you can follow the path C: Users AppData Roaming .minecraft.
At this point, look for the folder Screenshots and double-click on it, to view all the screenshot images saved on your computer.
Mac
If you own a Mac, you can see the screenshots captured in Minecraft Java Edition in a simple way as seen in the previous chapter dedicated to Windows. First, you need to know that screenshots on this edition of Minecraft can be captured via the key combination fn + F2 keyboard.
Once this is done, all you have to do is open the Finder macOS (the smiling face on the Dock bar) and navigate to ~ / Library / Application Support / minecraft. If you don’t know how, you can too right click on the Finder icon, select the item Go to the folder from the menu that opens and paste the path indicated above in the box that is proposed to you.
After opening the Minecraft installation folder, locate the one named Screenshots and double click on it, to view the captured screenshots.
Alternatively, you can press the combination cmd + shift + 4 to take a screenshot that will be saved directly to the Desk of macOS. I told you about it in more detail in this tutorial of mine.
Linux
Minecraft Java Edition is also available on Linux. If you want to take a screenshot, just press the button F2 on the keyboard. To retrieve the image you just saved, you need to open the Minecraft installation folder instead.
To do this, run the file manager you use, navigate to the path ~ / .minecraft and then double-click on the folder Screenshots, so you can access game images captured during your Minecraft sessions.
How to see the screenshots of Minecraft Bedrock Edition
If you own Minecraft Bedrock Edition, you can easily see the screenshots captured by following the instructions that I will give you in the next chapters.
Windows 10 and later
Through the version of Minecraft for Windows 10 and later, available on the Microsoft Store you can take screenshots using the Gamebar, accessible via the key combination Windows + G: then press onacquisition icon to capture the screen.
Once this is done, what you need to do is recover the screenshot you just captured: open theFile Explorer Windows (the yellow folder that you find on the taskbar) and access the path C: Users Videos and then double-click the folder Acquisitions, where you will find all the Minecraft screenshots.
Smartphones and tablets
The Minecraft app for Android and iOS / iPadOS does not have a native function for capturing screenshots like it does on PC.
What you need to do is, therefore, use the key combinations of Android and iPhone / iPad to capture the screen of the device (usually Power + Volume Down on Android and Power + Volume Up on iPhone, as explained in my tutorial dedicated to the topic).
That said, after taking the screenshot, to view it on Android you need to start the app Tunnel or Google Photos and tap on the album dedicated to Screenshots. On iOS / iPadOSinstead, you have to start the app Photo and press on the album Screen snapshots.
Thus you will find the list of all the screenshots acquired over time on the phone / tablet, including those of Minecraft.
Game console
If you play Minecraft on console, for example PlayStation, Xbox And Switch, you can use the features built into the latter to take screenshots: su PS4 And PS5, for example, you have to press the key Share on the controller and select the option to take screenshots; on family consoles Xbox you have to press the key twice Xbox of the controller and then the button Y; on Nintendo Switchinstead, you have to press the key Capture on the controller.
That said, once you’ve captured the screenshot, you can easily retrieve it by accessing the game console’s media gallery: su PS4 / PS5, then access the folder Collection from the main screen and open the application with the Catch gallery; on Xboxinstead, you have to press the key Xbox of the pad, move to the tab Broadcast and acquire and select the item relating to recent acquisitions; on Nintendo Switchinstead, you have to start the application Album and you will find all your screenshots there.
In all cases, in addition to viewing them, you can also share your screenshots on the social channels associated with the console.
