The Huawei Maimang 7 will cost CNY 2,400 ($350/€300) and will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (there is no 4GB RAM option like the Mate model). Platinum Gold, Charm Blue and Bright Black are available.

The Maimang 7’s specs are virtually identical to the Mate 20 Lite.

The device comes with a measurements of 158.3 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 172 grams. Its display is a 6.3-inch LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 (with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 81% screen-to-body ratio) and unsurprisingly a notch. The phone is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 710 SoC, aided by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

It has Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top of the operating system. This is the latest version of Huawei’s user interface, and it comes with support for GPU Turbo, Dual Band Wi-Fi, as well as NFC, GPS, GLONASS and Bluetooth 4.2.

There are four cameras on the Huawei Maimang 7. The rear system is made up of a 20MP f/1.8 main sensor with a 2MP secondary sensor to capture only depth information (which is needed for portrait mode photos). On the front is a 24MP f/2.0 camera, also aided by a secondary 2MP depth sensor lens.

P20 series AI chamber features are also available. Huawei Maimang 7 can recognize 22 scenes. For selfies, the AI ​​operation is divided into two zones – the background and the face. Settings can be applied independently of each other to create the best possible photos. Interestingly, the user can activate the AI ​​functionality with a tap, and can also activate or deactivate it after having already captured an image. In addition, users will be able to see the HDR mode working its magic in real-time through the camera’s viewfinder.
