Konami buys Champions League license for Pro Evolution Soccer

Konami announced today that it has secured a four-year Champions League license for the Pro Evolution Soccer series. This will provide all upcoming PES games, including PES 2009, with the Champions League and everything else that goes with it.

They have also bought licenses from Liverpool and Manchaster United. As a result, we can expect very realistic representations of players such as Torres, Gerrard, Tevez, Ronaldo and of course our own Edwin van der Sar.

Finally, we can also expect a demo of PES 2009 on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network today. It doesn’t seem to be a coincidence that this coincides with the FIFA 09 demo…

As expected, Pro Evolution Soccer has been cleaned up a lot more and the football players look a bit more realistic compared to the previous edition. In addition, there are new moves to perform, we can adjust the game to our own wishes and we can expect new control options.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 will be released on October 15 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP. The Wii version won’t hit stores until spring 2009.
