Microsoft could get 18% of the tablet market by 2019
It’s not exactly looking good in the tablet sector: for about a year the sales of these devices have been declining and, especially the models with Android, are not doing too well, mainly due to the rise of phablets and their large screens.
Apparently, this situation could benefit Microsoft, which according to Strategy Analytics will reach the 18% of the tablet market by 2018.
As you can see from the graph, the possible increase of Windows tablets will go at the expense of Android, which could lose 9 percentage points over the next few years.
The hypothesis of this scenario is by no means risky: Microsoft has worked very well with Windows 10, relaunching its platform and inviting developers to create new apps (also thanks to the so-called bridges).
Furthermore, it should be noted that in the professional environment the use of Windows (and the Office suite!) is often preferred to Android, one more reason to consider the analysis of Strategy Analytics reliable.
