Spotify Will Give Its Own Music Awards “Spotify Awards”

The Spotify Award Gala will be streamed live – the event will take place on March 5, 2020 in Mexico.

Music streaming service Spotify has announced that it will be handing out its own Spotify Music Awards that will “truly reflect what users enjoy most.”

The event will be broadcast live from Turner Latin America in Mexico City, which Spotify has named as the streaming capital of the world, ahead of even New York, London and Paris.

Spotify said the prizes will depend entirely on user-generated data, regardless of genre. Your recreations, patterns and habits will help determine the prize categories, finalists and winners, we read. You can get excited about the award ceremony, which will really tell everyone what the people in the world are streaming most of the time.

Spotify has only released a promotional video in Spanish (you can watch it below) and the awards appear to be focused exclusively on the Latin American market, but no other details have been disclosed.

Spotify will be broadcasting the ceremony live on TNT for all of Spanish-speaking Latin America on March 5, 2020. Will we see the gala on the internet? We don’t know yet.
