Tablet users hardly ever buy apps

According to the Statista App Monitor, more than half of all tablet owners in Germany do not buy any apps. While the purchase refusal rate for the iPad is around 55 percent, it is even 65 percent for Android tablets who do not spend any money on apps.

Users of tablets with the Google operating system also seem to have little inclination to spend “larger sums” on apps. Only 3.3 percent of those questioned stated that they had paid six euros or more, with a further 4.9 percent it was 4 to 5.99 euros. For comparison: both groups of buyers are around ten percent strong on the iPad.

The survey is based on around 2,000 people per operating system who were asked how many paid apps they had bought in the past eight weeks.
