It is a sign of the times, the hero of the book and computer game “The Witcher” – Geralt of Rivia – appeared on the postage stamp of the Polish Post.

The famous monster slayer and the main character of the most famous Polish game and book series was stamped on Friday, September 16, 2016. It is, of course, about the Witcher Geralt of Rivia, a character created by Andrzej Sapkowski. This is the first Polish stamp devoted to a computer game.

The design of the stamp and the FDC envelope was prepared by CD Projekt, the producer of the “The Witcher” game series, a real world hit. Poczta Polska emphasizes that issuing a stamp with Geralt of Rivia is not only a form of promoting contemporary culture, but also supporting Polish business. The Witcher 3 is our best export product.

He was declared innocent, yet the director of The Witcher 3 resigned

The stamp with the Witcher is, above all, a nod to fans of the Polish game and series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski. The philatelic value with Geralt will join such classics as Mario or Pac Man, which already have their stamps issued by foreign post offices.

The stamp was printed with the rotogravure technique on fluorescent paper in the format 31.25 x 39.5 mm. It will be available in the so-called block, i.e. inscribed in the larger whole of the picture: block format: 70 x 90 mm. Mintage: 180,000 pcs.

The stamp with Geralt can be purchased for PLN 6 in designated offices of the Polish Post and in the online store.

The next-generation version of The Witcher 3 also brings Netflix content
