Neuralink will be able to begin implanting chips into people in the next 6 months. This was stated by Elon Musk at the Show and Tell event held in the United States. Below you can see the video from the presentation.
According to him, most of the documents have already been submitted to the relevant authorities in the country. They confirm the security of the technology. As for the purpose of the implant, Neuralink suggests using it to control a PC or smartphone without hands and voice. As an example, the presentation showed a monkey with an implant that printed the phrase “Welcome” using just thought.
Musk has previously shown how a monkey could play pong using such a chip. The possibilities of the system are therefore wide-ranging.
How much such a chip will cost is not yet known, but it probably won’t be cheap.
