In the description of Complex Control he shares Grand Theft Auto 5 Modder Theaetik said his project combines roguelite and battle royale mechanics to create something with “high replayability and variety” that “feels like although there’s always something new to experience every run.” Since seeing the mod in action, I think this is an understatement.

Players can choose one of 70 characters and are tasked with surviving in fast-shooting warzones populated with overhead landing and driving AI enemies. Kill streaks improve your score.
Theaetics points out that Complex control has a save system separate from the GTA 5 base game and that the special abilities the mod offers are coupled with its roguelike elements – “procedural gameplay, permadeath, permanent progression” – making it different from typical battle royale games. Additionally, player avatars are upgraded until they die.
