Amazon Studios will release the film on Prime Video on July 24, nearly a year after its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Oscar-nominated director Marjane Satrapi returned to filming after a five-year hiatus from Radioactive – the biography of Maria Skłodowska-Curie with Rosamund Pike as the famous Polish scientist. Amazon Studios today released the first trailer of the movie, which will debut on the Prime Video streaming service on July 24, 2020.

Radioactive film, which was first presented at the Toronto International Film Festival in September last year. It tells the story of a pioneering scientist starting in the 1870s, including her romantic and professional relationships and a breakthrough in medical research that changed science forever. Maria Skłodowska was born at the end of the 19th century in Poland, then she went to Paris and married a fellow scientist Pierre Curie (Sam Riley).

Together, they revolutionized the importance of radioactivity by winning the Nobel Prize in Physics for their pioneering work that made Curie the first woman to win this award. Pierre died tragically in 1906, but Maria Skłodowska-Curie devoted herself even more to her research, winning the second Nobel Prize. However, this led to catastrophic consequences, including the life-saving and life-destroying properties of her discovery, until her death from radiation exposure in 1934.
